At the young age of 21, Patrick naturally assumed that a one-to-one photo shoot with James would be completely unattainable. Nonetheless, he penned a letter to the 1976 World Champion requesting a private portrait sitting. To Patrick's surprise, James replied swiftly and happily agreed. These mesmerising portraits were captured in July 1991, when Hunt was 43, only two years before he tragically passed away at 45.

These portraits are believed to be the only collection of fine art works captured of James off track and have remained unrevealed for thirty years, until Patrick was reunited with the mislaid negatives during lockdown.
